The Panther II was intended as a heavier, better-protected successor to the original Panther, sharing components with the Tiger II to simplify production. Only one hull was completed before the programme was cancelled in 1944. The Rheinmetall turret fitted to this kit was an alternative design never married to the actual prototype. Amusing Hobby's 1/35 kit presents this speculative configuration with authentic late-war German markings — a compelling “what if” for serious German armour collectors.
