The Mutsu was one of Japan's two Nagato-class battleships, among the most powerful capital ships in the world when completed in the early 1920s. She met a dramatic end in June 1943 when an internal magazine explosion sank her at anchor in Hiroshima Bay. Aoshima's 1/700 full hull kit captures the Mutsu as she appeared in 1942 with authentic IJN camouflage and metal barrels for the main armament. A striking companion to the Nagato for collectors of Imperial Japanese Navy battleships.
