HMS Hermes was the world's first purpose-designed aircraft carrier, commissioned by the Royal Navy in 1923 and serving through to her loss at the hands of Japanese aircraft off Ceylon in April 1942. Aoshima's 1/700 Waterline Series kit captures the Hermes in her later configuration with authentic Royal Navy markings. A historically significant subject for collectors of early carrier warfare and Royal Navy vessels.
