HMS Illustrious was the lead ship of the Illustrious class of armoured fleet carriers, whose enclosed armoured hangar proved its worth when she survived a devastating attack by Ju 87 Stukas in the Mediterranean in January 1941. She served in the Pacific until the end of the war. Aoshima's 1/700 Waterline Series kit captures her mid-war configuration with authentic Fleet Air Arm markings. An important subject for Royal Navy carrier collections.
