A small number of P-39s were modified as unarmed photo-reconnaissance aircraft, carrying cameras in place of the nose armament for tactical reconnaissance duties. Arma Hobby's 1/48 kit captures this less commonly kitted reconnaissance variant with authentic markings. A specialist subject for USAAF reconnaissance aviation collectors who want something different from the standard fighter configuration.
