The Hurricane Mk IID was the dedicated tank-busting variant, replacing the wing guns with two 40mm Vickers S cannons and earning the nickname “flying can opener” in North Africa. It served with No. 6 Squadron RAF and proved devastatingly effective against Axis armour in the Western Desert. Arma Hobby's 1/72 kit captures the Mk IID's characteristic under-wing cannon pods with authentic desert theatre markings. A distinctive and operationally important Hurricane variant.
