About the aircraft
Mustang Mk.III was the British designation used for the Merlin-powered P-51B and P-51C family. These aircraft combined the Mustang’s streamlined shape with the performance of the Merlin engine. Dorsal-fin extensions were used to improve directional stability on high-backed Mustangs.
