Eduard's 1/48 Avia S-199 Erla Canopy Hybrid Edition (kit 948011) represents the Czechoslovak post-war fighter assembled from Bf 109G/K components — engine, airframe, and Erla Haube canopy — but mated with the Jumo 211F bomber engine and Heinkel He 111 paddle-blade propeller due to parts shortages. The S-199 was notoriously difficult to fly but served with the Czechoslovak Air Force and critically with the Israeli Air Force in the 1948 War of Independence. Hybrid Edition combines injection-moulded and resin components.
