Eduard's 1/48 Weekend Edition Spitfire Mk.IIa (kit 84206) depicts the Merlin XII-powered Battle of Britain variant, representing a specific aircraft associated with Wing Commander Douglas Bader. The Mk.IIa, built entirely at Castle Bromwich, equipped Fighter Command squadrons from mid-1940 and saw intensive action during the Battle of Britain.
