The Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. B Tiger II — known as the Königstiger or King Tiger — was the most powerfully armed and armoured tank to see widespread service in World War II. The "Original Turret" (also called the Porsche turret) version was fitted to the first 50 production vehicles and features a distinctive curved front with a shot trap below the mantlet, contrasting with the later Henschel production turret. Armed with the devastating 88mm KwK 43 L/71 gun and protected by up to 185mm of frontal armour, it was virtually impervious to Allied anti-tank weapons at normal combat ranges. This FlyHawk 1/72 kit (FH3020) captures the rarer early turret configuration in fine detail.
