The M113 armoured personnel carrier became the workhorse of the Israel Defence Forces from the late 1960s, and by the 1973 Yom Kippur War IDF M113s — locally modified and known as "Zeldas" — were serving in large numbers across both the Sinai and Golan fronts. Equipped with additional armour, pintle-mounted machine guns, and various crew-fitted modifications, the Israeli M113 differed considerably from standard US versions. The Yom Kippur War of October 1973 was one of the most intense armoured battles since World War II, making this an especially compelling diorama subject. This ForeArt 1/35 kit (R5901) captures the IDF M113 in its 1973 operational configuration.
