The M19 Gun Motor Carriage was the US Army's primary self-propelled anti-aircraft vehicle of the late WWII period, mounting twin Bofors 40mm automatic cannon on a modified M24 Chaffee light tank chassis. It arrived in Europe too late to see significant action against the Luftwaffe, but proved highly effective in the anti-personnel and direct fire support role in both the final stages of WWII and throughout the Korean War. Its twin 40mm guns were capable of devastating fire against light vehicles, infantry, and fortifications. This ForeArt 1/72 kit (2004) is an excellent companion to the M24 Chaffee kit in the same range.
