One of the Wehrmacht's most pragmatic solutions to the chronic shortage of purpose-built artillery tractors: the Citroën C8 Beutewagen (captured vehicle), a French-built four-wheel-drive truck pressed into German service after the fall of France in 1940. Here it tows the formidable 7.5cm Pak 40, the standard German anti-tank gun that could defeat virtually any Allied tank at normal combat ranges and remained a serious threat to the end of the war. This Gecko Models 1/35 kit (35GM0073) is an unusual and characterful combination — the marriage of French engineering and German firepower that typified Wehrmacht improvisation.
