The Austin K2/Y heavy ambulance — universally known as "Katy" — was the British Army's standard front-line ambulance from 1939 and served in every major theatre of World War II. Capable of carrying four stretcher cases or ten seated casualties, it was a vital part of the RAMC's casualty evacuation chain from North Africa through to the final campaigns in NW Europe. This Gecko Models 1/35 kit (35GM0069) depicts the late-war version and makes a compelling non-combat addition to any British WWII vehicle collection or diorama. Pairs naturally with the early war ambulance kit (35GM0068).
