The Bedford OYD 3-ton truck was the most widely used British Army medium lorry of World War II, serving in virtually every theatre from Norway to Burma. Its reliable Bedford six-cylinder engine, straightforward maintenance, and good load capacity made it the backbone of British and Commonwealth logistics. The GS (General Service) body with metal cargo bed was the standard all-purpose configuration. This Gecko Models 1/35 kit (35GM0155) captures the OYD with an authentic metal cargo body and comprehensive markings options, making it ideal for supply column or base area dioramas.
