The FV18001 is the military designation for the Land Rover Series IIA 88-inch (later 80-inch) short wheelbase 4x4 utility vehicle — the iconic workhorse of the British Army from the late 1950s onwards. The Mk.2 late production version incorporates the refinements introduced across the Series IIA production run. Used in virtually every role imaginable from command vehicle to stretcher carrier, the Land Rover defined British military light transport for decades and saw service in Aden, Borneo, Northern Ireland, the Falklands, and the Gulf. This Gecko Models 1/35 kit (35GM0078) is a must for any Cold War or post-war British Army collection.
