The LARC-V (Lighter, Amphibious Resupply, Cargo, 5-ton) is a wheeled amphibious cargo vehicle developed for the US Army and Navy to transfer supplies from ship to shore without port facilities — a capability used extensively in Vietnam and retained by several nations to this day. The LARC-V can carry 5 tons of cargo in the water and on land, and its ability to operate independently of conventional harbours made it invaluable for island-hopping logistics and riverine operations. This Gecko Models 1/35 kit (35GM0039) depicts the extra armour version, reflecting the field modifications applied in operational service.
