Hasegawa 1/72 Kawanishi (Alf) Type 94-1 E7K1 Reconn Seaplane (JS-055)

The Kawanishi E7K1 Type 94 — codenamed 'Alf' by the Allies — was the Imperial Japanese Navy's standard shipborne reconnaissance floatplane of the late 1930s and early Pacific War period. A graceful biplane with twin floats and an open rear cockpit, the E7K1 was launched by catapult from cruisers and battleships to scout ahead of the fleet. It saw extensive service in China and throughout the early Pacific campaigns before being superseded by later monoplane designs. This Hasegawa 1/72 kit offers a rare opportunity to model this often-overlooked subject, capturing the delicate strut work and float arrangement of this elegant pre-war Japanese naval aircraft.
