The P-40N was the final and most refined production variant of the Curtiss Warhawk, stripped down and lightened to wring the best possible performance from the aircraft's Allison engine. The most numerous of all P-40 variants, the N-model served extensively in the Pacific, Mediterranean, and China-Burma-India theatres, flown by USAAF pilots as well as those of several Allied nations including Australia, New Zealand, and the Soviet Union. While outclassed by late-war opponents, the P-40N remained a rugged and dependable fighter-bomber right through to the end of the war. Hasegawa's 1/72 kit captures the N-variant's clean lines and authentic USAAF markings in a compact, satisfying build.
