The Somua S35 was the finest medium tank available to the Allies in 1940 — better armoured and better armed than most of its German opponents — yet its centralised one-man turret, requiring the commander to aim, load, and fire alone, was a critical tactical handicap. Used by the French Cavalry arm (Armée blindée et cavalerie) and later by Germany (as the Panzerkampfwagen 35S 739(f)) and other Axis-allied nations, it saw action from the Fall of France through to the end of the war in various hands. This Heller 1/72 kit (79875) is a well-regarded classic tooling of this important and often underrepresented tank.
