The Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VIC and VIF were the definitive variants of one of Britain's most powerful and feared aircraft of World War II. The VIC served with Coastal Command's Strike Wings as a torpedo fighter — designated ITF (Interim Torpedo Fighter) — wreaking havoc on Axis shipping in the Mediterranean and North Sea, while the VIF served as a night fighter with airborne interception radar. Armed with four 20mm cannon and six machine guns, the Beaufighter earned its nickname "Whispering Death" from Japanese troops who heard it coming only at the last moment. Hobby 2000's 1/72 kit covers both variants with accurate markings for this versatile and formidable aircraft.
