The Pz.Kpfw.III/IV auf Einheitsfahrgestell was a late-war German design study for a standardised interchangeable chassis that could accept either Panzer III or IV running gear components, simplifying production and logistics. The small turret variant represents one of several proposed configurations studied as Germany sought to rationalise its increasingly complex armoured vehicle production in 1944–45. Very few of these vehicles were completed, making this a fascinating "what if" subject from the final desperate phase of German weapons development. This HobbyBoss 1/35 kit (80151) is a rare opportunity to build this obscure paper panzer project.
