The Tiger II (Königstiger) with Henschel turret was the definitive production variant of Germany's heaviest tank, entering service from mid-1944. Armed with the 88mm KwK 43 L/71 gun — one of the most powerful tank guns of the war — it could defeat any Allied tank at virtually any combat range. The 105mm designation in HobbyBoss's kit number refers to the kit number, not the gun calibre; the actual armament is the 88mm gun. Served with heavy tank battalions on both the Eastern and Western Fronts, most notably in the Ardennes offensive. This HobbyBoss 1/35 kit (84559) captures the standard Henschel turret production variant.
