The Panzerkampfwagen KV-1 756(r) was the German designation for captured Soviet KV-1 heavy tanks pressed into Wehrmacht service. Impressed by the KV-1's armour and firepower — which outclassed anything Germany had in 1941 — the Germans repaired and repainted captured examples with German markings and used them against their former owners on the Eastern Front. The 756(r) designation indicates the standard German capture system for Soviet equipment. These vehicles were used in small numbers, primarily by reconnaissance and training units, making them a rare and fascinating subject. This HobbyBoss 1/48 kit (84818) captures a KV-1 in German service.
