The Dicker Max ("Fat Max") was a German self-propelled heavy gun, mounting a 105mm K18 gun on a Panzer IV chassis in an open-topped fighting compartment. Only two prototypes were built, but they were sent to the Eastern Front with Panzer-Regiment 521 in 1941 and proved highly effective against Soviet fortifications and armour at long range before both were lost in combat. An unusual and visually striking subject, the Dicker Max is rarely modelled. This HobbyBoss 1/48 kit (84835) offers one of the few opportunities to build this short-lived but historically significant German heavy SPG.
