The Otter Light Reconnaissance Car was Canada's own development of the South African Marmon-Herrington armoured car concept, produced at General Motors Canada and serving with Canadian and Commonwealth reconnaissance units from 1942 onwards. Armed with a Bren gun and Boys anti-tank rifle in a small open-topped turret, the Otter provided armoured reconnaissance capability that was agile, mechanically reliable, and well-suited to the fluid operations of the Italian and North-West European campaigns. In 1/35 scale the Otter's distinctive hull, turret, and suspension are rendered with full diorama detail, and its relatively compact size makes it a natural companion to infantry figures and larger vehicles in a mixed-arms scene.
Canada's own armoured car at diorama scale — the Otter in full 1/35 detail for the Italian or NW Europe campaign.
