The Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf.b introduced improvements to the suspension and hull compared to earlier a-series variants, moving the design toward the more standardised and reliable configuration that would characterise the later Ausf.C. Still armed with the 20mm autocannon, the Ausf.b fought in the Polish campaign of 1939 and the Western campaign of 1940, forming the bulk of German armoured strength at a time when quantity was more important than quality in the rapidly expanding Panzerwaffe. IBG's 1/35 kit captures the Ausf.b with the precision that distinguishes this manufacturer's approach to German armour variants, with markings covering the Polish and French campaigns.
