The Cannone da 90/53 was Italy's most effective anti-aircraft weapon — a high-velocity 90mm gun that combined formidable air defence performance with devastating anti-tank capability comparable to the German 8.8cm Flak. In its towed configuration on its wheeled carriage this kit represents the gun in its ground-based role, set up in a static firing position with its outrigger legs deployed. The 90/53 served in North Africa, Sicily, and mainland Italy, and batteries equipped with it were among the most feared Italian weapons encountered by Allied armour. This standalone gun kit is the perfect companion to the truck-mounted Autocannone variants, allowing diorama builders to show the same gun in both its mobile and static defensive configurations.
