The Bedford QLT was the troop-carrying variant of the QL family, fitted with a body designed to carry infantry in reasonable comfort over the long road marches that characterised Second World War operations. Capable of carrying a full section or more of soldiers, the QLT moved infantry battalions forward, transported casualties rearward, and shifted reinforcements across the theatre with the quiet efficiency that defined British military transport. In an army that moved predominantly by road, the QLT was how most of the infantry got to the battle — unglamorous but indispensable.
