The Littlejohn Adaptor was a squeeze-bore device fitted to the 2-pounder gun that dramatically increased muzzle velocity by progressively reducing the projectile diameter, giving the Daimler's gun enhanced anti-armour penetration without requiring a complete turret replacement. It was a neat engineering solution to the problem of an ageing gun, and Daimlers so equipped remained viable against most German armoured cars and light vehicles they were likely to encounter on reconnaissance operations. The Littlejohn fitting is visible externally as a distinctive tapered muzzle attachment, making this an identifiably different and historically interesting variant within the Daimler family.
