The Douglas C-47 Dakota was the aircraft that held the Allied air transport effort together — the most important transport aircraft of the war, used for everything from supply drops and casualty evacuation to paratrooper delivery and VIP transport. In Polish Air Force service, the Dakota served with No. 1586 Polish Special Duties Flight, dropping supplies to the Polish resistance and flying agents into occupied Poland in some of the most dangerous operations of the entire war. The Polish Dakota carries a weight of history that transforms an already significant aircraft into something profoundly moving, and IBG's limited edition boxing with Polish markings and authentic colour options is a tribute to the aircrew who flew it.
