The Deep Wading Equipment variant of the Cromwell was prepared for the D-Day landings, fitted with waterproofing seals, extended air intake trunking, and exhaust deflectors that allowed the tank to wade ashore through several feet of water without flooding its engine. These were the Cromwells that landed on Gold and Juno beaches on 6 June 1944, the specialised preparation visible in the distinctive wading trunk equipment before it was stripped away once the tank was safely ashore. IBG's kit captures this D-Day specific configuration — a unique and historically precise variant that exists for a single dramatic moment in the Cromwell's operational history.
A D-Day specific variant for a uniquely specific moment in military history — the Cromwell as it landed in Normandy.
