The Cruiser Tank Mk.VI Crusader Mk.I was Britain's main tank in the Western Desert campaign of 1941, fast and mechanically complex in equal measure — capable of outrunning most German armour but plagued by reliability issues that the desert's heat and sand did nothing to help. Armed with a 2-pounder gun and a secondary machine gun turret, the Mk.I was already being superseded by the time it first fought at Battleaxe and Crusader, but it remained a vital component of the 8th Army's strength throughout its North African service. IBG's 1/72 kit captures the Mk.I in its original configuration with authentic Desert War markings and the detail that makes this one of the most complete Crusader kits available in this scale.
