The Mimetall boxing presents the Fw 190D-9 in the unpainted or partially unpainted metal finish that appeared on a number of late-war Luftwaffe aircraft as paint became scarce and production was rushed. The natural metal and bare aluminium finish of a Mimetall aircraft creates a striking and distinctive model quite different from the camouflaged schemes of most Luftwaffe subjects, and the combination of polished metal panels and minimal markings has a raw, industrial quality that reflects the desperate improvisation of the Luftwaffe's final months. A superb subject for modellers who enjoy natural metal finishing.
