Take your Focke-Wulf collection in a different direction with IBG’s 1/72 Fw 190D-15 Torpedo Bomber, kit 72540. This unusual subject explores a torpedo-bomber interpretation of the late-war long-nosed Fw 190, making an eye-catching companion to more familiar fighter variants.
A late-war development
The Fw 190D family evolved from efforts to improve the aircraft’s performance using inline engines. The D-15 development used the Daimler-Benz DB 603 engine, but the end of the war halted preparations before series production began. This torpedo-bomber boxing offers an alternative-history modelling subject rather than a representation of an operational wartime torpedo-bomber unit.
