The Sukhoi Su-22UM3K is the two-seat trainer and combat-capable variant of the Fitter attack aircraft, which served as a core component of the Polish Air Force's strike capability for decades after being acquired during the Cold War. The UM3K's dual-seat configuration for conversion training is immediately apparent in its longer, redesigned nose, and the Polish Air Force's Su-22 fleet gave it a supersonic variable-geometry ground attack capability that remained relevant well into the post-Cold War period. As Poland gradually retired the type, interest in documenting and modelling the Su-22's Polish career has grown, and IBG's kit meets that demand from the most appropriate possible manufacturer.
