IBG 1/72 Universal Carrier with Boys 14,5mm (72026)

The Boys anti-tank rifle-armed Carrier was a standard variant in the early war period, the .55-inch Boys providing a light armoured vehicle with some anti-tank capability against the thin-skinned armoured cars and light tanks it was most likely to encounter on reconnaissance. By 1942 the Boys was obsolete against main battle tanks, but against light vehicles, soft-skinned targets, and in the anti-aircraft role it remained useful, and the Boys-armed Carrier served throughout the war in areas where it hadn't been superseded by the PIAT. An early war and desert theatre variant that reminds the viewer of how anti-tank defence was organised in the days before dedicated tank destroyers.
