A captured Heinkel He 111 in Allied markings is one of the more intriguing subjects in wartime aviation — examples of Germany's principal medium bomber that were forced down or surrendered intact and subsequently test-flown by RAF, USAAF, or other Allied air forces to evaluate their characteristics and identify weaknesses. These evaluation aircraft wore Allied markings alongside their original German construction, creating visually striking and historically significant aircraft that provide unusual and conversation-starting marking options for the modeller.
