The Panavia Tornado ECR (Electronic Combat and Reconnaissance) is the dedicated SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defences) and reconnaissance variant of the Tornado family — operated by the German Luftwaffe and Italian Air Force as a specialist hunter-killer platform equipped with the HARM anti-radiation missile and the FLIR/infrared reconnaissance system. The Tigermeet boxing captures one of the most spectacular paint schemes in modern military aviation — the elaborate tiger stripe and artwork liveries applied to NATO Tiger Meet participant aircraft, where squadrons whose insignia feature a tiger compete annually in tactical exercises and apply eye-catching special schemes to their aircraft. Tornado ECR Tigermeet aircraft have produced some of the most striking examples of NATO special scheme painting, making this an outstanding display subject. Italeri's 1/48 kit provides accurate ECR-specific features including the HARM missile pylons, revised nose, and the comprehensive Tigermeet decal sheet that is the centrepiece of this boxing.
