Italeri 1/72 Gotha Go-242/244 (1111)

The Gotha Go 242 was the Luftwaffe's primary assault glider from 1941 onwards — a high-wing, twin-boom design with a hinged rear fuselage that allowed vehicles, artillery, and up to 21 fully equipped troops to be loaded and unloaded rapidly in the field. Developed as a larger successor to the DFS 230, the Go 242 served on all fronts where German airborne and air-supply operations were conducted, from Crete to the Eastern Front and North Africa. The Go 244 variant added two Gnome-Rhône radial engines to create a powered transport capable of independent flight, though the underpowered conversion was less successful operationally. This Italeri kit covers both variants, allowing the builder to choose between the pure glider and the powered transport configuration — an unusual and historically significant double subject that covers a largely overlooked but operationally important German transport aircraft.
