The Aero L-29 Delfín was the Warsaw Pact’s standard jet trainer from 1961, selected over the competing Polish TS-11 Iskra after a fly-off evaluation and produced in large numbers for Soviet Bloc air forces. Czechoslovakia, as the country of origin, operated the L-29 in large numbers with both the Czech and Slovak components of the air force — the Czecho/Slovak markings release covers aircraft from both the unified and post-1993 separated air arms. A significant Cold War aviation subject with genuine local heritage for KP Models.
