The Late Roman Army of the 4th and 5th centuries was a very different force from the legions of the Principate — heavier cavalry, barbarian foederati fighting alongside Roman regulars, and infantry increasingly equipped with the oval shield and spatha rather than the classic scutum and gladius. This Lucky Toys figure set covers the transitional period as the Western Empire struggled to maintain its frontiers, with troops in the distinctive late Roman style of ridge helmets, scale armour, and long shields that characterises the period in contemporary art. A useful set for diorama builders and ancient wargamers working in the late antique period.
This kit box is still factory sealed. Box shows signs of age related storage - see photos.
