The Greco-Persian Wars of 490–479 BC produced some of antiquity's most celebrated confrontations — Marathon, Thermopylae, Salamis, Plataea. Master Box's 1/32 scale Greco-Persian Wars series depicts the soldiers of both sides in careful detail, and this ninth instalment captures a heavy infantry flag officer in the arms and armour of the period: bronze helmet, linen or bronze cuirass, greaves, and the large round hoplon shield. At 1/32 scale the figure offers a level of costume and equipment detail that rewards careful painting and makes for a serious display piece.
