The Bergepanther was Nazi Germany's most capable armoured recovery vehicle of the Second World War — built on the Panther chassis specifically because the Panther and King Tiger were too heavy for earlier recovery vehicles to retrieve. The Ausf. A featured the distinctive A-frame recovery crane, winch, and spade anchor that allowed it to extract bogged or damaged vehicles from positions that would have been inaccessible to anything less capable. Often overlooked in favour of the fighting vehicles it supported, the Bergepanther was nonetheless essential to maintaining German armoured unit effectiveness. Meng's 1/35 kit captures the vehicle's unique equipment and working detail with impressive accuracy.
