The Kübelwagen Type 823 is a variant of the Wehrmacht's ubiquitous light utility vehicle that served across every front of the Second World War, from the North African desert to the Russian steppes. Like all Kübelwagens, the Type 823 relied on its air-cooled Volkswagen engine, its light weight, and high ground clearance rather than four-wheel drive for cross-country mobility — a combination that proved surprisingly effective. Meng's 1/35 kit of the Type 823 captures the distinctive open bodywork, folded windscreen, and period equipment of this essential German support vehicle with characteristic accuracy. An ideal diorama companion for any late-war German subject.
