The M4A3E2 Assault Tank — the “Jumbo Sherman” — was created by welding additional armour plate onto a standard Sherman hull and fitting a new, heavier turret, giving it frontal protection approaching that of the Tiger I. Deployed to lead infantry through heavily defended urban areas and prepared positions in Northwest Europe from late 1944, the Jumbo earned a reputation as virtually indestructible in the assault role despite carrying the standard 75mm gun of the regular Sherman. Its unique combination of Sherman mobility with genuinely heavy frontal armour makes it one of the most distinctive WWII tank variants. Meng's 1/35 kit captures those additional armour plates and reinforced turret with characteristic accuracy.
