USS Lexington (CV-2) was one of America's first fleet carriers — converted from a battlecruiser hull following the Washington Naval Treaty, she and her sister Saratoga defined what a large fleet carrier could be before the war. Lexington was lost at the Battle of the Coral Sea in May 1942 — the first major carrier battle in history — sunk after taking severe torpedo and bomb damage in a fight that stopped the Japanese advance on Port Moresby. The Lady Lex is immortalised in Meng's Warship Builder chibi series, recognisable and characterful in that compact, collectible format.
