The Panther was Germany's response to the T-34 — a medium tank with sloped armour, a powerful long 75mm gun, and performance that made it arguably the best all-round tank of the Second World War when it worked, which was not always. Its mechanical unreliability was legendary in early production, but later variants were more dependable, and the Panther's firepower and protection made it a formidable opponent in any engagement. Meng's World War Toons renders the Panther's distinctive sloped hull and elongated gun mantlet in chibi form, capturing the tank's sleek, predatory lines with characteristic playfulness.
