Tank riders — Panzergrenadiere and infantry carried on the outside of tanks — were a standard feature of German armoured operations throughout the war, used to keep pace with armoured spearheads across terrain where wheeled vehicles couldn't follow and to provide close protection against enemy infantry and anti-tank teams. In the fluid, fast-moving operations of the Eastern Front, tank riders were often the difference between an armoured thrust succeeding and stalling. MiniArt's Set 1 provides German tank riders in mid-war dress — a versatile selection of figures suitable for 1942–44 operations on the Eastern Front or in Italy — in the range of gripping, bracing poses of men travelling fast on a moving vehicle in a combat zone.
