Mirage Hobby 1/72 Multi-Mission Combat Helicopter WAH-64 (72053)

The WAH-64 Apache is the British Army Air Corps' variant of the Boeing AH-64D Apache Longbow, built under licence by AgustaWestland at Yeovil and fitted with Rolls-Royce/Turboméca RTM322 engines in place of the American General Electric T700s — engines that offer greater power and are already proven in the British Lynx and Merlin fleets. The WAH-64 entered service in 2001 and saw its combat debut in Iraq in 2003, subsequently deploying extensively to Afghanistan where it operated in the demanding high-altitude conditions of Helmand Province. The type's combination of the Longbow radar, Hellfire missiles, CRV7 rockets, and M230 chain gun makes it one of the most capable attack helicopter platforms in NATO service, and the British Army's WAH-64s earned a strong operational reputation in both major combat operations and the sustained counter-insurgency campaign in Afghanistan.
